# How much does a Retriever AI Scrape API call cost?

Each call to Retriever AI's Scrape API costs $0.05, billed as one request whether it carries one URL or several. Send `POST https://agents.rtrvr.ai/zcj/b3pqyh25egnz/scrape` with a `urls` array, then pay the 402, the price quote, over x402 or MPP and retry. No account, API key or plan is needed.

`usageData` reports Retriever AI's own infrastructure usage and does not show your charge. The storefront bills one request per call.

Putting more URLs in each call lowers the cost per page. `settings.extractionConfig.maxParallelTabs` sets how many URLs load at once.

## What is charged, and when

- Nothing is charged until you pay the 402.
- Each call gets its own 402.
- Scrape has no plan to buy. A purchase attempt on the pay-as-you-go plan returns `400 payg_not_purchasable`. Call the API instead.
- The service returns raw page data. No language model runs on the output.

### Does the price change with the number of URLs in a call?

No. Every Scrape call is billed as one request at $0.05 per request, whether `urls` holds one address or many. Each URL comes back as its own tab, in the order you sent it.

### Do I need an account, API key or subscription to use the Scrape API?

### Can I pay for Scrape calls with a card?

### Is there a free allowance or trial for the Scrape API?

No. The `requests` meter has no free included units, so every call is charged at $0.05 per request.

### How do I check what a call was charged?

Read the `zc-billing` header on the paid response. Its `chargedUsd` field is the amount charged for that request. A delivered response with no `zc-billing` header billed nothing.
